Death of a Salesman Essay 2 What do you find moving about Linda's relationship with Willy? Refer to specific sections of the play in your answer. I find the way Linda constantly 'gives Willy a smile' is very moving. By 'wearing a mask' in front of Willy and by never expressing herself with annoyance in her words, she seems to overlook Willy's faults and weaknesses and shows infinite patience with Willy. She is positive and optimistic virtually all the time when she is in the presence of Willy and pretends not to know the truth that Willy fails to face. She sees what her husband is going through, and she supports him and loves him despite his many failures and weaknesses. She realizes that Willy is just an ordinary man (having problems obviously being a part of normality) but she doesn't blame him for it, if anything, she loves him more because of it....
