Phonetics is defined as the precise study of human sounds, as how are they pronounced, transmitted, how are they heard, study of Phonetics crosses language barriers concerned with our speech sounds and not those of a particular language. Phonetics is the study of the articulatory and acoustic properties of the sounds of human language. Whereas Phonology is broader study of major speech sounds and their organization in particular language. Phonology in present situation deals with how English organized in elements of speech into an integrated system. Phonology is often regarded as one component of language structure. Phonetics is divided into 3 sub-fields: - i. Auditory Phonetics. ii. Acoustic Phonetics. iii. Articulatory Phonetics. Auditory Phonetics: By Auditory Phonetics means perception of Sound via ear.
