From reading the two extracts by Isabella Bird and David Attenborough, we can plainly see that each writer creates a description of the jungle from different points of view.

From reading the two extracts by Isabella Bird and David Attenborough, we can plainly see that each writer creates a description of the jungle from different points of view. The extracts from each writer are written in different styles and are arranged in different ways, which would show the contrast between Bird's and Attenborough's points of view. Each of the writers has a different primary purpose. It is obvious that Isabella Bird's account of the jungle is written as a narrative while David Attenborough's description is more of a non-fictional piece written to inform the reader. Thus we can see that both writers have a different purpose. By reading Bird's passage, we are able to see that her primary focus is to entertain the reader, whilst providing an informative read. On the other hand, Attenborough's piece is clearly written to inform the reader about the life cycle...
