Romeo and Juliet are about two star crossed lovers who fall in love. But the two families (Montagues and Capulets) unfortunately have a history of battle (they are enemies). The play is a tragedy as the main characters die as a result of fate. The whole story revolves mistakes, mishaps and sadness. The main themes are violence and love. Violence is the feud between the two families and their hatred towards each other. The story is based upon a major battle between two very large and important families. The fighting caused embarrassment to the royal court leading the prince to threaten them "If ever you disturb our streets again, your lives shall pay the forfeit of the peace."
