Statistical Analysis of the International Trade in Services Services represent the largest portion of the economy in most developed countries, and increasingly in developing countries as well. It is also the fastest growing sector of world trade, and trade and foreign direct investment in services have grown faster than in goods over the past decade. The following can show the importance of service sector: this sector can contribute up to 71 percent (for USA) to the production of a country (around 45% for developing countries). Furthermore, for most of the developed countries the service sector provides employment for around 73% of females and 53% of males. In the last decades, the international trade in services accounts for around one fifth of the world trade. Given the high dynamic of the international trade, this growth is quite important.
