In the Pre- budget report announced on the 27th of November 2001, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Gordon Brown, stated the government's objectives for the coming years of the Labour Government. The objectives have remained unchanged since the start of Labour Government's term in 1997 however, with shifting emphasis on some objectives resulting from the terrorist attacks on America. These objectives are very many concerning all aspects of the economy. Hence, in the subsequent paragraphs, six main objectives will be considered, with the first three objectives constituting 'Building a stronger Britain' and the latter three aiming at 'Creating a fairer society' in an uncertain world including how government intends on achieving these objectives as stated by the Chancellor in the Pre-budget report of November 2001. One of the main objectives of the government is to maintain economic stability. This has always been a priority with the government however...
