Haemon and Creon Essay In the extract between Haemon and Creon I have decided to play the part of Creon. In this extract Creon has just found out that Antigone was the one that disobeyed his order for the body not to be buried and has had the death sentence issued upon her. Haemon, being betrothed to Antigone, and hearing about his fathers death sentence upon her, has gone to try and persuade his father to be reasonable. Creon is slightly headstrong, because of his sudden rise to power, and suffers from self obsession. Although Haemon respects his father, he realises how much of a mistake his father is making, and his love for Antigone also overpowers his respect for his father. Playing Creon in general would mean trying to portray a very self obsessed yet insecure person. He suffers from "Hubris", the sin of pride against the gods....
