We see life directly, hear it, smell it yet it takes art to really bring it to our consciousness. It could come in the guise of van Gogh's most profound painting or even in one of a catchy commercial tag line. It is anything that jolts us into the realization that, yes, there is more to life than what the latest cellphone model is. In this case, however, it came in the pretext of a couple of unassuming school productions of a play written by Paul Dumol: Ang Paglilitis Kay Mang Serapio. Before the first play, I was at KFC along Katipunan when a scrawny boy of about 8 years of age reached out...
