Zeffirelli and luhrmann are both dealing with the same matter-The opening of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. But they make dissimilar decisions about how they want to launch the story and its key themes. As in both films the story is based in "fair Verona" both directors have used different ways of which to introduce the major themes. Romeo and Juliet. Both being the mains characters in the film also are introduced in different ways in the beginning of both films. As in the originality of the play both directors have used the chorus but they both have used different ways to affect the audience. I think that luhrmann has made the appropriate introduction to the story because he has used a more dramatic way of introducing the story he has used the television to start the film which is a brilliant way of catching the audiences interest.
