A2 Community Project written Commentary The task was to create a performance based on a local story or myth. The piece must be a combination of at least two of the three art forms: dance, drama and music. It must last approximately thirty minutes. Devising of the piece; researching the stimulus We had decided to take the idea of the shipwrecks near the village of Chile in the Isle of Wight. We had other ideas, like the ghost that is supposed to haunt the old church/hospital in Netley, but the shipwreck idea was the best in terms of dramatising it. We decided to visit Black Gang Chine museum, which is also near the village of Chile. In the meantime we used the Internet to find information about the shipwrecks of Chile (for example, figure #1, The Back of the Wight - Ships Graveyard, which outlines the shipwrecks...
