La Boite's production of 'Cosi' is a poignant look at life through the eyes of patients in an insane asylum during the 1970's. Dan Potras choice of set as a burnt out theatre was used as a metaphor for the lives of the characters within the production. The set design reflects both Lewis and Henry's lives immensely. Cosi delivers the message that although a situation or person may appear to be hopeless and bleak at first appearance, there may be a hidden depth of ingenuity that is unseen. As Lewis persisted with the production 'Cosi Fan Tutte' the set turned from desolate and burnt out to colourful and exuberant. The way in which the set design dramatically changed from one extreme to the other helped enforce the message which both La Boite and Dan Potra were trying to deliver.
