Comparing two Situation Comedies - Simpsons and Friends The Simpsons is a cartoon that shows on Monday and Fridays on channel 2 from 6:00-6:25/50 and everyday on sky (digital) from 7:00-8:00 (2 episodes and breaks). Whereas friends is a "real-life" series that shows on Friday on channel 4 at 9:00-9:30, on Sky 1 on random days at 6:00-6:30 and other times, it also shows on T4 (digital) on a Thursday at 9:00-9:30 (new episodes). Both programmes show at similar times on two of the same channels, but generally friends is aimed at an older audience then the Simpsons (14+) as it appeals more to teenagers/adults and uses more adult situations and humour. The Simpsons however, despite appearing as a cartoon for children it also appeals to audiences on different levels. E.g. some jokes are aimed at an older audience, and has a much wider audience.
