Brave New World theatre review. On the 11th march 2004; I saw the performance Brave New World at Hounsdown School. Brave New World is about creating a stable world, a world where no emotions or feelings affect you as they do in society at the moment. Everyone takes a drug called Soma; it's drugs, alcohol and Christianity without the side effects. Everyone sleeps around in this performance, there is no commitment. They are taught to buy things everyday and to only mix with their own class. I noticed that some of the things were opposite, for example, they thought that a gentleman was a man, who has slept with lots of women. My key thoughts of this play are that it is about drugs, sleeping around, cloning and compulsive buying. I think the meaning of the play is creating a stable world.
