The environment and surrounding aspects of an online economy can be unpredictable, to say the least. Fluctuating sale numbers, supply and demand, high's and low's in the market, are just a few examples of the ever-changing commerce of online sales. These differences are the determining factors in a company's inevitable success, or doom. Preventing the latter of the two can, sometimes, be as easy as web-site appearance and/or mechanics. Different style and layouts can be of a wide variety. Most, after examination, can be placed into a few categories. Those categories are storefront, auction, portal, or a combination of the three. Each one has its pro's and con's, and is used in very similar, yet very different ways. A "storefront" website is exactly what the name implies.
