Overview The device of our project should be able to determine the velocity and time traveled of a thrown softball. The user will only have to enter the distance traveled, and then the outputs will be displayed in a display unit (PC, LED's, or palm). The device will generate two pulses from the action of throwing a softball. The first pulse is generated from the softball pitch (sudden acceleration), and the final one is generated from the catching of the ball (sudden stop). The device will calculate the time and average speed between those two pulses. Abdulla Alhammadi is working on the hardware parts required for the project, and Ossama Alkhurafi is providing the code necessary for the microcontroller to capture acceleration and then perform the data acquisition and data reporting.
