Input Devices. Input devices are used to put data into a computer system. You can use some input devices such as keyboards or touch screen to enter data by hand. Other input devices such as bar-code readers allow automated data entry to take place. In this coursework I will look at two input devices write about their strengths and limitations, at the end of my research I will conclude which device I think is of more use, important and unique. The input devices I am researching are a keyboard and scanner. Keyboard Keyboards like the one in the picture above are very widely used to put data into a computer system. Most keyboards that we use today have 102 keys, 26 of them key are alphabetical the rest are for computer functions, for example caps lock and delete keys.
