Bletchley Park Coursework Describe the organisation and work of the people at Bletchley Park. Bletchley Park was located 50 miles North of London. It was MI6 and the G.C. & C.S's perfect evacuation base. Codenamed "Station X". In the countryside it was unlikely to be bombed and could be expanded. BP aimed to decode the simple code signals sent by the Germans as well as trying to crack the "Enigma" code. To achieve this BP needed to employ a range of people as Enigma was a mathematical code which could not be broken using the traditional techniques. It started with just a 100 recruits. The head of the G.C. & C.S., Alastair Denniston recruited classics professors who treated Enigma as an academic problem as well as mathematicians, chess players and crossword puzzlers.
