Aileron Position Control System Choice Of Operational Conditions There are four main operating conditions for the Jetstream aircraft which are shown below. 1. Take off 2. Cruise at maximum speed 3. Econ cruise 4. Landing The Aileron Position Control System must be able to operate correctly in all four of these conditions. Therefore an analysis of the performance of the aircraft when subjected to each condition is required in order to be able to choose a suitable motor/gearbox combination and specify the control gain required. This was done by using the data on the aircraft which was provided, along with some extra information obtained regarding the density of the air at different altitudes. The important factors which are required to calculate the maximum moment on the aileron using the equation provided are shown in the table below.
