The whole purpose of humour is to 'make people laugh'. Do you agree with this statement? In your answer refer to specific materials studied in class! I thoroughly disagree with this issue that the whole purpose of humour is to 'make people laugh' for the reason that humour is a very imaginary theme. This is essentially because humour can be defined by example very differently by different people. While one person may find something incredibly humorous, another may find it boring, sad, angering, or sometimes disgustingly out of place. This is what makes defining humour such an achievement. As a wide description of humour, it is everything that amuses you with laughter whether expressed physically or mentally. Humour is fun. Humour is functional as a way to express yourself.
