Kevin Dam Ms. Coelho ENG 4U1-14 03 May 2007 True Identity is the Way to Redemption Identity, it is a subject that has been debated over for a long period of time. It is the substance that makes up a person; it identifies who they are and gives them the reason to live. Many philosophers and scientists in the past have created theories concerning this matter. Descartes for example, believed that identity is immortal and that it was already uniquely made since the beginning of time. He believed that it was linked to the soul and that it was needed for a person to live. Others believed that identity is a collection of memories and experiences trough out one's life. No matter what the theory is, it is believed that identity is crucial to a human being. Most people take their identity for granted, not knowing how fortunate they are to have them intact. What...
