The Effects of Concentration on the Rate of Reaction By Matthew Izett Aim: My aim is to see whether or not the concentration of acid will affect the amount of gas produced, and how quickly it reacts with Calcium carbonate. Prediction: I think that the more concentrated the acid is the faster the reaction will take place, and the quicker it will produce the 50 ml. of gas. Hypothesis: There are a few factors that can change the rate of reaction. A Reaction takes place when one substance reacts with another. There are several factors that can affect the rate of reaction or whether the reaction even takes place. The first is probably heat - This is because the warmer the particles are the faster they will zoom around which means the more reactions will take place.
