Measuring the Amount of Gas Given of when Marble Chips and Hydrochloric Acid Are Reacted with Each Other and the Concentration of Hydrochloric Acid is Varied Planning Diagram Equipment List Stop Clock Gas Syringe-100ml Conical Flask-250ml Connection Tubes Bung CaCo3 (Marble Chips)-2g Hydrochloric Acid Solution 2M-20ml Method When hydrochloric acid and marble chips are reacted, a gas is given off. The formula fro this is: CaCo3(s)+HCL(aq) CO2(g)+H20(l)+CaCl2(aq) For my experiment I could use lots of changing factors such as: changing the molality of the acid, using different amounts of marble chips, changing the temperature the experiment is done in, I could use different catalysts or I could change the surface area of the marble chips. For my experiment, I have decided to change the molality of the acid. For my experiment I will weigh out 2g of marble chips, then measure 20ml of hydrochloric acid 2 molality. I will then put the two together in the conical flask and start the stop clock. I will...
