SOURCES OF FINANCE There are lots of different types of sources of finance. Sources of finance is ways to obtain money for the business. One type of source of finance is called equity capital. This is when the owners put their own money into the business and finding people who are willing to become joint owners. This could be either a partner (in a partnership) or a shareholder (in a limited company). Another source of finance is from retained profit. If you are running a successful business you will be making a profit. The profit is the owner's money. The owner may keep this profit for usage in the company. This is known as retained or undistributed profits. The business may use this money to buy in more stock or to have more cash in their bank.
