There are many reasons why Marks & Spencer may need to recruit staff, reasons includes: - The growth of the business. - Changing job roles - Resignations, retirement and dismissals - Internal promotion - New stores opening - Busy periods e.g., Christmas and summer - Maternity cover - Sickness cover - High staff turnover - Extra work In addition sometimes Marks & Spencer may have problems keeping staff in their jobs; this is measured by labour turnover.
