Motivation through Incentives The motivation and commitment of employees is key to the success of British Airways. Employee ownership in the Company is encouraged. As at January 2001, some 66 per cent of employees owned 3.4% of the company's shares. In February 2000, the Company launched a new Sharesave plan that attracted over 36,000 applications from employees in 73 countries. Participants who are saving will have the opportunity to acquire shares in 2003 at the predetermined option price of £2.38. The Company has gained shareholder approval at the AGM held in July 2000 to operate any aspect of the new all employee share plans. These plans are currently being evaluated by the Company'Bravo!', our enhanced company-wide recognition programme continues to prosper.
