Functional areas In this task I will be focusing on the organisational functions within J.Sainsbury's. Organisations will combine the factors of production, which are: labour, land, capital and entrepreneurship. Combining these factors of production means that the business has to carry out various functions in order for every thing to be organised and all resources to be allocated efficiently. Here are some of the functional areas that exist within J.Sainsbury's organization, showing their operating board: Finance and accounts J.Sainsbury's finance and accounts department keeps track of the money that goes in and out; usually the chief accountant is responsible for managing the account and finance department. This information would then be presented in the final balance sheet, other records such as profit and loss accounts and sources and use of funds are also kept by the finance and accounts department.
