Regular market research must be undertaken to ensure that customers are happy with the level of service that they receive from a business (any complaints can be used to improve the existing systems). If a business wants to remarket a product or innovate it, they can do primary and secondary research to find out the needs and requirement of customers. Primary data would be carried out by the business through observations, questionnaires and testing. Secondary research is usually using data, which has already been found out, and is not designed for the product in study but it is still relevant.
