Oldmills Borough Council Draft Financial Section Oldmills borough council is seeking to help private investment into the region by not only giving guidance on ways to source additional finance for schemes within the area but by also seeking Government, European community and Public bodies investment into the area. This will be to help subsidise and support these schemes. Taking Medium Term investment to mean, that which is required up to 3-8 years approximately, and Long term investment to be over a period longer than 8 years. Medium term finance can be one of the most difficult forms of finance to obtain. High street banks are reluctant to invest money for periods of to eight to ten years and very often if the money is need for only three to eight years it is not really worth offering a new share issue.
