Task 2 Industrial Sectors In the UK there are many different types of business and they all do different things, some extract raw materials from the earth, some manufacture the raw materials into different products and others sell the final product or supply a service to the public. All these different businesses are put in to different sectors, and these sectors are called the primary sector, the secondary sector, and the tertiary sector. As time goes on technology changes and so do the sectors. Primary Sector The Primary sector is concerned with producing or obtaining raw materials. This can often mean extracting natural minerals or natural products. Industries in the primary sector include: * Farming and fishing, producing the basic foodstuffs needed by people * Forestry, producing the timbre that is used in making houses, furniture, paper and other items * Mining and allied industries, producing coal, oil and gas for heating and power,...
