eBay Company Overview eBay Inc. is probably the most famous on-line success story in existence. Its name is synonymous with Internet auction and selling. So what is eBay? "eBay (Nasdaq: EBAY) is The World's Online Marketplace(r) for the sale of goods and services by a diverse community of individuals and small businesses." 1 eBay is basically a place in which buyers and sellers come together to buy and sell just about anything. Sellers list their items for sale and buyers bit on them. Sounds really simple right, so what is all the fuss about? Well the big achievement is that everyone, or at least anyone with an Internet connection, can access this community fast and easy and buy something, or even become a seller.2 Perhaps the biggest achievement was that they became the first trusted online commercial community.
