E-GOVERNMENT STRATEGY FOR ST. VINCENT & THE GRENADINES I. BACKGROUND /JUSTIFICATION FOR E-GOVERNMENT STRATEGY PROJECT Reform in St. Vincent & the Grenadines has been one of the main issues since 2002. According to a survey conducted in 2000, by the World Bank in Collaboration with the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States showed that, the Public Sector of St. Vincent & the Grenadines demonstrated a number of inefficiencies in a number of areas. Since 2001, the government has a experienced a change in leadership and the new government has endorsed public sector reform. An important element in the public sector reform process is the move towards e-government to reduce some of these inefficiencies. As cited in the Public Sector Survey, Some people say that the public sector is unable to deliver what is expected of it. The reasons for this are highlighted in the graph below.
