Census A census is a basic form of primary source of information. Census in britain are carried out by the three Registratar-Generals. It is backed by law, in the sense that those refusing to give the rewuired information can be prosecuted. In a full census an attempted is made to count every man women and child resident in the UK or on board British ships docked in home ports or sailing in home waters on the appointed day. Visitors from abored or armed forcesstationed in Britain are include, what ever their nationality is. Census take place at ten year intervals from 1801 to 1961, with the exceptions of the wartime year 1941. In 1966, when a mid-decade count was takn for the first time, the interval for census was reduced to five year. The questions asked in a census vary from census to census, but they must be within general scope allowed...
