Introduction In unit 2 serving orgnisations it requires me to make a case study on how the orgnisations uses ICT in their firm. The organisation that I have chosen is IBM. IBM was incorporated in the State of New York on June 15, 1911 as the Computing-Tabulating-Recording Co. (C-T-R), a consolidation of the Computing Scale Co. of America, The Tabulating Machine Co., and The International Time Recording Co. of New York. IBM got started going in the 1950's, which will go down in history as the decade in which the disk storage industry was born and IBM led the way. On September 13, 1956, a small team of IBM engineers in San Jose, California, introduced RAMAC(tm) (Random Access Method of Accounting and Control), the first computer disk storage system.
