Assignment 1 As a part of my course requirement, I completed 3 school visits. For 3 consecutive weeks I visited the year 5/6 class from 9am until 11am on a Thursday, at Mayfield West Demonstration School. During my visits, as a result of my previous study of the Information Processing Model (IPM), I was able to draw links between the IPM and the teaching strategies used by the teacher in order to ensure all her students were learning to their full potential. A widely accepted theory which addresses the way people absorb, process and retain information, the Information Processing Model arose out of the development of cognitive psychology in the 1950's.
