Consumer Protection Act 1987: This act relates to price and safety. Under this act it is an offence to: 1) Mislead customers 2) Mislead consumers over sale prices and exaggerate price reductions 3) Supply goods which are not reasonably safe. In 1994, this aspect of the act was strengthened by the General product Safety Regulations Why businesses may not be totally ethical: Some businesses may not be totally ethical because they want to keep their customers. They want to keep their customers so that they can earn money and make profit, and this is why they keep their business costs low.
