Case Studies and Analysis Explored

Case Studies and Analysis: What Are These?

A case study is an analysis of a real-life situation or event. During A Level Business Studies you might conduct case studies on, e.g. Microsoft's balance sheet, or McDonald's move into salads and deli products.

Why Conduct Case Studies and Analysis?

As with any educational course, Business Studies A Level is taught both theoretically and practically. Case studies are an important element of practical study because they foster an understanding of how the theories you learn about play out in the real world.

What Will I Study?

Your analysis might encompass essay writing to evaluate the effectiveness of different business models or organisational structures. Your coursework and projects may also include case studies on companies' customer service approaches, market research or human resource and training philosophies.

Further Study After Case Studies and Analysis

Being able to examine and analyse applied situations is crucial to good performance in real business life. In many Degree topics, including business, you'll need to be able to conduct studies and evaluate the effectiveness of different approaches or models.

Recent Reviews of Case Studies and Analysis Essays

What our users think of the Case Studies and Analysis essays in this section:

"This is a fairly good analysis. A good selection of the most important factors are identified, with explanation, and a range of stakeholder groups is considered (though this could be expanded to encompass more niche groups). The overall presentation would benefit from a brief introduction to the scenario, and while reasonable justification is given for the conclusion, I don't feel that the reasoning is fully linked back to the points given earlier. My main recommendation would be an expansion of the scope of the factors considered. TSR user: Illusionary"

"Little terminology used, pretty basic"
