Biology Coursework "The effects of a named variable on the action of the enzyme trypsin" Aim: To investigate into the effects of changing an environmental variable on the rate of action of a biological catalyst called Trypsin on gelatine. Prediction: The factors that will affect the rate of action of the biological catalyst Trypsin are temperature, concentration and the pH. The factor that I will be investigating is the temperature at which the Trypsin works fastest (optimum temperature). I predict that the rate of action will be fastest at 40?C. I predict this because the optimum temperature is not at body temperature so I think it will only be a bit higher. Also I think at a higher temperature the amount of collisions will be higher. Reasons: I have predicted that the optimum temperature for Trypsin is approximately just above body temperature because if the temperature is high then there should more collisions because...
