BIOLOGY COURSEWORK "The effects of a named variable on the action of the enzyme trypsin" AIM To carry out an investigation into the effects of changing an environmental variable on the rate of action of a protease enzyme called trypsin. PREDICTION The factors I am going to investigate are the effect of the change in temperature of the water that the Trypsin will work at the best it possibly can. I predict that the temperature the Trypsin would work best at is around 35-40 degrees Celsius (at optimum temperature.) I think this because as the temperature of the water increases, the rate of reaction will also increase (collision theory) however, I think that when it gets to a particular temperature hence 35-40 degrees the enzymes will begin to denature and will not react as quickly as it should be, I think this because I know already that proteins are broken down when they are...
