The rate of reaction of Catalase with Hydrogen Peroxide. AIM: An investigation into the factors that affect the rate of reaction of the enzyme catalase when reacted with Hydrogen Peroxide at various temperatures, to produce a volume of oxygen and water as products of this reaction. In this experiment I will attempt to investigate the factors that affect the rate of reaction of the enzyme catalase. By varying the temperature of the different reactions it will test the rate of reaction. Catalyse is an enzyme found in food such as potato and liver. Therefore I will use potato to carry out this investigation as it is cheaper to test on for this reaction to be done. Enzymes are very large and complex organic molecules that are synthesized by the cell to perform very specific functions.
