Science Coursework * Aim My aim is to find what temperature does amylase work best at? * Prediction From my research I predict that as the heat increases the iodine solution will turn black less because of sugar being produced and the reaction happening quicker with more heat but after a bit above body temperature the reaction will be denatured and turn the iodine black.My prediction am that amylase will work best at roughly 35-40°c. I have selected this temperature for the reason that enzymes must work in the mild conditions, of a cell in the body at approximately 40°c, and the Ph is 6.5 - 7.5. The higher the temperature the less it will take for the digestion of the starch to complete.
