Gary High Experiment to show how trypsin affects Photographic film at different PH Values What are enzymes and what do they do? Enzymes are proteins that speed up the rate of reaction in living things without being changed themselves, Enzymes are catalysts. The lock and key theory suggests that the enzymes are the correct shape without having to change for the substance to fit in, The substance enters the enzyme and is digested in the active site of the enzyme this speeds up the reaction. Enzymes are not used up in the reaction and therefore can be used again and again Investigation I am going to investigate the affects of trypsine on photographic film. I am going to time how long it takes for the photographic film to be completely cleared. PH can alter the rate of reaction because if the pH is too high or too low for the enzyme, it will...
