Evaluation of effect of temperature on beetroot cell membrane experiment Most of the results of the experiment weren't anomalies, they all followed the same basic trend. To enable me to analyse the reliability of my results I will work out the standard deviation of my results. Standard deviation will tell me how far my set of results varies from the mean. The higher the standard deviation the more unrealiable the results are. A standard deviation of between 0 and 1.5 would be considered as acceptable. To work out the standard deviation for a set of numbers, I first need to work out the mean of the numbers. I the need to find the deviation of each number, that is its difference from the mean and the sum of the deviations from the mean. After that, I would square the deviation by the mean. I do however recognise various limitations of the experiment...
