Biology Assessed Practical-The Effect Of Temperature On Enzymes Hypothesis We are going to test the effect of temperature on enzymes. We will test the enzyme at 7 different temperatures. Out of these temperatures, we have to test at least 5. The temperatures are: 0°C, 20°C, 30°C, 40°C, 50°C, 60°C and 80°C. We are only going to use one types of enzyme. The enzyme we are going to use is called Amylase. This enzyme acts on Starch so we are going to test how long it takes for the enzyme to break down the starch when set at different temperatures. According to the sheet " How Enzymes Work" given to us in an earlier lesson, the enzyme should work best at around 40°C. It should also not even work after around 55°C, as the enzyme will become denatured and will not be able to work properly. My prediction is that the...
