Antibodies and their uses Aims An ELISA experiment was performed to observe the specificity of antibodies and to determine the antibody titre within different dilutions of antibody with regards to human albumin, human albumin raised in rabbits and human albumin raised in goats. Introduction Adaptive immune response, involves a mixture of white cells in a person's body, these cells are known as the B-lymphocytes, three different types of T lymphocytes and dendritic cells. Antigens are protein molecules that initiate the response of the immune system in an individual. The effector cells on the B-lymphocytes, (which are made in a persons bone marrow) have specificity for a particular antigen, this in turn becomes activated when antigens are present i.e. antigen presenting cells. The B-lymphocytes and T lymphocytes protect a person's body in unison. However antibodies are only produced by the B Lymphocytes the T cells are helper cells, a T helper cell can become activated...
