An investigation to show... How heat affects lava flow Introduction In this investigation, I am going to heat treacle to different temperatures to see how it effects how viscous the treacle is. After heating it, I will time how long it takes to reach the bottom of a baking tray that is at a gradient of 45º. This will show me how viscous the treacle is at that temperature. Prediction For this investigation I predict that the hotter the treacle is, the less viscous it will be; therefore, taking less time to reach the bottom of the tray. Theory behind my prediction Viscosity is a property of fluids that causes them to resist flowing. All fluids have this property. The molecules of a fluid move against each, other which results in friction. The force set up by the molecules rubbing together.
