An Investigation into the Activity of a Protease Enzyme Variables * Temperature of enzyme * PH of enzyme * Enzyme concentration * Substrate concentration * Light Aim The aim of this investigation is to discover how changing the concentration of the independent variable, enzyme concentration, affects the dependent variable, rate. Fair Test A fair test is vital to ensure that the results are accurate. A water bath will be used to keep the temperature of the enzyme at a constant. If the temperature increases above 45C then the enzyme will become denatured and stop working. The water will be tested prior to the experiment to ensure that it is pH neutral. If the pH is different then the enzyme may become denatured, as they are pH sensitive. The photographic film will be stored in complete darkness until they are used, as they are sensitive to light. The substrate concentration will be kept the same by ensuring that equal amounts...
