A basic introduction to spreadsheets We are going to build up a pretty large spreadsheet at the end of this exercise but first we need to start at the very beginning. Let's consider the screen shot below with regards to the ticket sales at a nightclub. We can work out that if we sell 300 tickets and charge £10 per ticket then we would make £3000. The key to spreadsheet design is that the spreadsheet will do the maths for you. To do this you need to understand the basics of "formula". To work out a revenue of £3000 then what happened is that we multiplied £10 by 300 tickets.
