I disagree with the statement “Only God has the right to interfere with our genes”. We are the keeper of our own body, and it is entire our own responsibility to look after it.

They believe that only God has the right to create, to change, and to alter the life of a human being. And that anyone else who attempt to do similar things is committing a great sin. Like their attitudes to abortion, to euthanasia and to embryo technology, different people within the same religion have different attitudes towards the right to interfere with human genes. As gene related technology has only been developed recently, there are no direct teachings from holy books referring to it, which caused the different attitudes, as different people approached it through different teachings.
