The human genome contains approximately 30,000 genes, which are contained within 23 chromosomes. While it may take time for the effect to hit the average household, these changes will alter the lifestyle that every age-level is accustomed to. Common to every American is the risk of cancer. During the Genome Project researchers discovered that cancer could be linked to genes. With this possibility a teen-age male could be aware that he has the genes for testicular cancer, before it is noticeable. Likewise, today males must wait until the doctor notices the "lump"; by this time it is usually too late to salvage the testicles in whole.
