Planning Experimental Procedures (P) Background Information: Osmosis is the movement of water from a high water potential to a low water potential through a selectively permeable membrane. This shall be important to remember throughout this practical and write up, as this is what the foundations of the experiment are based on. Basic Diagram of Osmosis Apparatus: Test tube rack (that is able to hold 14 test tubes), scalpel, forceps, syringe, tile, 14 test tubes, tissue paper, 1.0 molar sucrose solution, water, potato chips and Chinese radish chips. Predictions: I predict that when the concentration of sucrose is low the chips will gain mass and as the concentration of sucrose solution increases the chips will lose mass.
